FLOW YOGA/ VINYASA FLOW:
Uses aspects of Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga- where the physical practice combines postures to create a flow, uniting the movement, the breath and the mind.
The circular aspect of the practice is influenced by Tai-Chi and somatic movement so the direction of where you flow is not from one point of the mat/space you start with. Through the practice we explore postures investigating the internal experience of the movement rather than just the external appearance or result of the movement.
YIN YOGA VIBES:
Can be a stand alone practice or great to complement a Flow Yoga practice as asanas are held for 3-5 minutes or for longer periods of time, to get more juice out of each asana, helping to connect with the fascia in the body and encouraged further by the vibrations from Tibetan and crystal singing bowls. Yin Yoga poses work on the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fasciae, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Yin Yoga links to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the sequences of postures are meant to stimulate the channels of the subtle body known as meridians in Chinese medicine and as nadis in Hatha yoga. A more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality- which is magnifed by the singing bowls to encourage relaxation and release.
Whether the class is a slow, flow or dynamic class and no matter if you are a beginner or experienced yoga practitioner- the journey into each asana is just as important as the posture itself:
-We link the breath with movement.
-Go with the flow without expectations on how to get there.
-Become present in the practice and find the edge of where we are today.
